Due to the worsening weather forecast with significant amounts of snowfall the Town of Cobourg is declaring a Significant Weather Event and a Snow Event.

The Town of Cobourg would like to inform residents cold temperatures are expected overnight Friday, January 23 continuing through to Sunday, January 25, 2026.

The Town of Cobourg (Town) is undertaking a Master Plan study to identify the potential sewage system improvements required to address projected growth. The existing wastewater system is serviced by Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP) No. 1 and associated pumping stations; however, projected growth in the sanitary sewershed area is expected to exceed system capacity. This study will assess the existing wastewater treatment plant and pumping stations and identify the operational and capacity improvements required to meet future demands.

The Town of Cobourg wishes to inform residents and visitors that due to electrical work taking place for the generator relocation construction project, Victoria Hall will be closed to the public at 5 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026.

The Public Works Division will be conducting overnight snow removal in Downtown Cobourg in the early morning hours of Thursday, January 8, 2026. Work will begin at 12 a.m. (midnight) and continue until approximately 7 a.m. on Thursday.

Take notice that the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Cobourg passed Development Charges By-Law 058-2025, being a By-law to amend Development Charge By-law 001-2022, on December 17, 2025, under section 19.
